Summer Programs To Be Offered In 2024
This summer for 2024 I’ll be offering a few different programs in the Collingwood and Wasaga Beach areas. I’m working out details for each of them but here are some early preliminary news on what is planned.
Total Body Stretch Class
Once again, I’ll be running Total Body Stretch classes each week as weather permits. These were quite popular last summer so we’ll definitely run them again in both Collingwood and Wasaga Beach on an alternating week basis on Tuesdays starting at 5:30 pm which hopefully allows enough time for those who finish work at 5 pm to get to the locations. These classes will continue to be free of charge this season with optional tips always appreciated of course. The Events section at this website already has sessions scheduled starting June 18 through to end of September so you can check on dates. If weather doesn’t cooperate for any class, I’ll try to reschedule to another evening that week when we know it will be dry.
Personal Fitness Training
I’ll be offering personal fitness training this season on a private and semi-private basis for small groups up to a maximum of 3 participants. I have Fitness Ontario Leadership Program (FOLP) qualification as well as my many years in martial arts competition including being a senior member of the Canadian National Karate Team. Many individuals particularly older adults, need some guidance to help them with a personal fitness training program so I’ll be able to coach them through workout sessions suitable for each person. Each training session will include cardiovascular aerobic exercise, stretch training with weights, some stretching and custom consultation suitable for whatever current fitness level each individual is at. Sessions can be scheduled with a lot of time flexibility daytime or evening. More details of this program is at this link for personal fitness training.
Effective Self Defense Seminar
I have taught an Effective Self Defense seminar to hundreds of participants in both public and corporate settings over many years. A basic knowledge of self defense is always a good thing so I’ll offer a 2-3 hour intensive self defense seminar as a one time event this summer or fall season. If demand is there, I may run additional seminars. I will cover the most effective self defense techniques for a variety of different situations from my martial arts background which spans 50 years now. We may run separate seminars for teens and adults depending on how things develop.
Martial Arts Weapon Bo Staff Training
Finally, I’ll offer a very specialized training program that will be for individuals who have at least an intermediate level of martial arts experience. Many martial arts students have never had the opportunity to train with martial arts weapons and I’ll offer private (or semi-private) training sessions on bo staff. Again, only certain individuals will be accepted for this specialized training opportunity with me. Details will be available soon.
This is just an initial overview of the different types of programs I’ll offer this summer and fall. Again, details will be available for each one soon but in the meantime, our Total Body Stretch classes are already posted at the Events section. If weather and ground conditions permit, I might add an additional session or two even before the first class scheduled for June 18. Just keep monitoring the Events section for updates.

Will you have a total body stretch class in Thornbury this season?
It would be nice to run a class there but we would need to have evidence of enough interest (get your friends there to add comments here!). Also we would need a suitable outdoor location with free parking.
