Summer Fitness Workouts
Although it doesn’t seem like we have much of a spring season after going from my last ski day on April 16 to what seemed like hot muggy weather already, I have been on my spring season fitness schedule since that last ski day. But I realized that it was almost time to switch over to my summer fitness workout schedule when three things happened.
First, the city of Mississauga started their weekly Wednesday fitness classes at Celebration Square which my social Meetup group GTA Free Spirits attends. We have a pretty regular small group that comes out each Wednesday night for those.
Second, our spring season midweek hikes are coming to a close since the temperatures are starting to get a bit too hot even during early evenings for them. Pretty soon, we also know that early evenings in nature trails will be full of bugs which we want to avoid.
Third, maintenance people at my townhouse complex is starting to get the outdoor pool back in shape for the pool season again. I see the water is filled but still not cleaned yet. Notices have gone out about the rules reminders and the official opening pool day is June 14.
So once again, I’ve planned out my fitness workouts for the next few months.
Mondays: Swim
Tuesdays: Martial Arts Forms + Kickboxing
Wednesdays: Strength Training/Super Stretch + Meetup Fitness
Thursdays: Swim
Fridays: Martial Arts Weapons
Saturdays: Open
Sundays: Strength Training/Super Stretch
The Wednesday schedule seems like a lot but it really isn’t. The Mississauga fitness classes (yoga, zumba, boot camp) are not that challenging for me as I go really to socialize more than anything else. So I usually get in my own workout during the day first.
Saturdays will be open ended as I may choose to go for another swim, do some more martial arts or switch in the Sunday workout if I’m on a day trip for that Sunday. This gives me some flexibility in my overall summer fitness workouts schedule.
