Karate Weapons Bo Staff Video

I hope you caught my first new video featuring my martial arts weapons on the beach.  I did mention that we shot my entire bo staff form (routine) a few times.  One angle in particular was quite interesting as it was from a distance.

The camcorder was sort of facing the direction of the sunshine at that time so there was an effect of a silhouette on my body.  The video footage from this distance was not used at all for the first bo staff video.  So this second video along with a different music sound track will give my karate weapons bo staff form a slightly different look and feel.

One person who already saw it remarked that the video gave her a calm feeling.  Well that is certainly the first time anyone has said that my martial arts forms actually calms them – it’s usually the reverse effect!

In competition mode, these karate bo staff weapons forms as with all my other martial arts forms, would also feature lots of loud yelling (known as kiai in martial arts) but I chose not to include any of it for these videos.

Here is this second video with my karate bo staff weapon form.

Practical Self Defense Is Less Fancy

If you are impressed by the moves in my karate weapons bo staff form, that’s great.  But don’t get the impression that this is what self defense is like.  Practical self defense is much less fancy compared to the techniques you see in martial arts forms.

In fact, practical self defense techniques are actually quite boring compared to the moves martial artists do in forms.  Being much more simple and less complicated, practical self defense techniques are also much faster and easier to learn.

I teach practical self defense in my seminars as well as in my video DVD program called Effective Self Defense With Karate World Champion Clint Cora – check this link out for more information.
