Relocation To Collingwood
I’ve lived in several different cities in Canada including Toronto/Mississauga, Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver and now with my latest relocation up north, Collingwood. In the past most of my moves have been due to career opportunities but with this latest move to a much smaller town compared to past places I called home, the Collingwood relocation was a lifestyle one.
I decided that after spending my winter ski season up here, it was time to let go of the city traffic, noise, pollution and crime. It was time to live a much more stress free environment. Of course I had the typical busy task of moving and renovations which all relocations have. But now with most of these done, I’m almost finally ready to settle into my new life up here in Collingwood.
Collingwood Getaways
Moving into a new townhome meant that my one bedroom condo I used as my winter base become freed up which I can rent out all year round. This of course turned my condo into a full rental property joining the portfolio of other rental properties I already own. But before a new long term tenant was to move in, the condo was available for all of July so I treated some folks to quick Collingwood getaway stays up here.
This enabled selected people to take the time to enjoy the Collingwood area over a few days stay without rushing like they would usually do on day trips to Blue Mountain. In total, we had 17 people plus one dog stay at my condo during July.
These quick getaways enabled my guests to have a nice break away from the busy GTA life. Different sets of guests got to explore the Collingwood area based on their interests whether it was the beach/waterfront, quaint little boutique shops, hiking or shopping for farm produce.
Of course my guests also got to be among the first visitors to my new home as well. The consensus was that my new house in Collingwood is a much nicer home compared to the townhouse I had in Mississauga.
Here’s a compilation of different guests who made it up to visit with the average trip duration of 3 nights.
It’s too bad I don’t have a condo available to host my guests all year round now that mine will be rented out long term. But in the event that it does become available in between future tenants again, I’ll most definitely use it for guests again.
