Private Martial Arts Bo Staff Lessons Available
If you or your kids have martial arts experience but never learned how to use martial arts weapons but always wanted to after seeing fancy moves on TV and movies, here’s your chance!
Some of you might know that I’m a former member of the Canadian National Karate Team and past world champion on the NASKA, NBL and WSKF competition circuits – see link for a more detailed look at my martial arts background. On my off diving days, I’ll be available this summer to give private (or semi-private) lessons in bo staff training. I will teach you my black belt level bo staff routine featured in the video below which is the same one I won countless forms competitions with (or a slightly simpler version if warranted).
All lessons will be conducted outside (weather permitting) at my home in the Erin Mills area in Mississauga (Ontario) and lesson days/times are quite flexible even during weekdays for kids since I keep retirement hours these days.
All potential students whether adult or kids should have at least green belt or equivalent intermediate level in any martial arts style with forms experience (karate, tae kwon do, kung fu) if possible. Those with just combative skills experience with none in forms (kickboxing, muay thai, juijitsu, judo, mma) will find weapons training a bit more challenging since it is a weapons form being taught – but not impossible.
Lesson rates are as follows (remember these are private or semi-private lessons with a former world champion);
Single private one on one 60 minute lesson = $87 plus HST
Single semi-private up to 3 family members or friends 60 minute lesson = $57 plus HST each participant
Series of three private one on one 60 minute lessons = $167 plus HST
Series of three semi-private 60 minute lessons = $117 plus HST each participant
