Ontario Motivational Speaker On Guidance
Yes, I was SCARED! This Ontario motivational speaker is going to share with you a story from his childhood. This was many years ago during a grade seven school day trip to try snow skiing and it was my very first time. I was on the beginner or ‘bunny’ hill and had no idea what to do.
I saw some of my friends who were already intermediate level skiers and they looked like they knew what they were doing so I tried to copy them. Of course I ended up falling flat on my face (known as a ‘FACEPLANT’ in the ski world).
I got more scared and frustrated. Then I decided to take some ski lessons where I had instructors show me the right steps in a logical progression to learn how to ski. I had guidance.
Soon, I was able to ski down the bunny slope without falling and also the slightly harder hills as well. I kept taking lessons throughout the years and eventually became a certified ski instructor myself.
I went back to the same ski resort where I had my very first day years ago and when I looked around at the slopes, including that same bunny hill I first went on, I couldn’t believe that I was actually scared of them.
Of course, my success on the ski slopes is due to all the GUIDANCE I had through the many ski lessons I took. Without that guidance, I would not be the skier I am today.
Achieving Success With Direct Guidance
This is the same for many things in life. We do better in achieving success when we have DIRECT GUIDANCE.
This concept for achieving success is so IMPORTANT that I will share another personal story involving guidance in another blog post soon. As an Ontario motivational speaker, I will introduce some personal development resources which involve personal guidance.
In the meantime, check out the off season photo below which is of a bunny hill similar to the one I started skiing on. It’s not the actual one I was on during that school ski trip but all bunny hills are very similar. The one in the photo was shot at one of the ski places I teach skiing at during the winter.
It’s actually one of the bunny hills that I have introduced many people to the sport of skiing since that’s where they will first learn to ski. This includes kids as young as three years of age. The thing on the right side is called a ‘magic carpet’ which is like a moving sidewalk which takes skiers up the slope.
Well, this Ontario motivational speaker has shared one of his personal success stories involving guidance. If you have one to share as well, please do so below in the comments section.
