Some time ago, I interviewed some Northwest Native American artists and they all told me that it takes years in order to get good at their craft, particularly the wood carvers. When one sees the wonderful artwork they produce, it’s quite inspiring because not only is the artwork beautiful, but knowing that it took years to master the craft really adds to the appreciation.
