Motivational Sayings
Here are the motivational sayings I posted on my Motivation Facebook page during the first week of July. From now on as mentioned on my Facebook page, I will try to post 2 motivational sayings per day rather than just one.
“We crucify ourselves between two thieves: regret for yesterday and fear of tomorrow.” ~ Fulton Oursler
“It is easy to sit up and take notice. What is difficult is getting up and taking action.” ~ Al Batt
“Nothing so conclusively proves a man’s ability to lead others as what he does from day to day to lead himself.” – Thomas J. Watson
“Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best.” ~ Bob Talbert
“You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” ~ Zig Ziglar
The quote above by Thomas Watson is such an important leadership lesson as it suggests that if one wants to be a good leader, one must demonstrate each day that he or she can lead oneself first. That is, one must be able to set a good example for others to follow.
Here the other other motivational sayings posted last week.
“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” – Muhammad Ali
“Knowing is not enough, you must apply; willing is not enough, you must do.” ~ Bruce Lee
“Happiness depends upon ourselves.” ~ Aristotle
“You are really never playing an opponent. You are playing yourself.” ~ Arthur Ashe
The one above from the ancient times of Aristotle still very much resonates with our society today in modern times. There is much unhappiness out there among folks and too often we blame other people for our unhappiness. That is, we also depend on others to create happiness for us. But in the end, this will always bring unsatisfactory results.
In order to be happy, it must come from oneself, inside each individual rather than from others. I think Aristotle hit it bang on with his quote.
