Martial Arts Bo Staff Weapons Training With Clint Cora
On a limited basis, I offer private one on one and semi-private training sessions with the martial arts weapon bo staff. This is for all folks both adults and kids who are into martial arts but never had the opportunity to train with weapons such as bo staff. Training with me would be an ideal supplement for those who are currently martial arts students at a club or school as well since this broadens the martial arts knowledge with a different exposure.
As you will see in the video of me performing my bo staff competition form, it is a blend of Chinese and Japanese style staff techniques that resulted in multiple championship wins during my martial arts competition years.
Prerequisites For Bo Staff Training With Me
Although these bo staff training sessions with me are open to both adults and children, there are prerequisites required. All prospective students for this training must have at least achieved an equivalent of intermediate level or green belt in any martial arts that have forms (kata, patterns). This would include any style of karate, taekwondo or kung fu. Past training in just martial arts such as judo, jui jitsu, kickboxing or MMA (mixed martial arts) that do not feature forms will not qualify as required prerequisites since students in these purely combative only martial arts do not have the right foundational skills for weapons forms training. So if you or your kids have not reached at least an intermediate level with martial arts forms, my bo staff training sessions will not be for you.
Bo staff weapons training certainly challenge your martial arts skills, increase your coordination as well as impress your friends!
Bo Staff Training Sessions Offered
My bo staff training sessions which last up to 45-60 minutes can be scheduled with a lot of flexibility in terms of days and hours so that they are convenient to all. They are however, weather dependent as we will be training outdoors at my home in Collingwood.
I’ll teach you the basic bo staff techniques and then proceed to cover either the same competition form you see in the video above or a variation of it to suit left or right hand dominant as well as appropriate complexity suitable for each person.
Here are the different training sessions which can be single private one on one or semi-private (maximum of 2-3 students) as well as series of four sessions which result in a bit of a discount per session. Note that the secure online payment system I use is in US$ but the prices below are the Canadian equivalents.
Single Private One On One Session – $77 plus HST online or $80 cash at session
Single Semi-Private Session – $57 plus HST online or $60 cash at session per person
Series Of Four Private Sessions – $237 plus HST online or $240 cash at first session
Series Of Four Semi-Private Sessions – $197 plus HST online or $200 cash at first session per person
Also note that these bo staff training sessions will be available only until early November for 2024. For any questions and scheduling please contact me.
