Last Part Of Our 2024 Dive Season
We can already start to feel the change in seasons as some mornings have been quite cool in temperature. Although Brockville was a balmy 22 C in water temperature and the last Cedar Hill dive was 19 C at top and 15 C at 110 feet deep for a very warm thermocline, Humber Bay this past week was a chilly 7 C which was totally unexpected. Nevertheless, wetsuit divers who are prone to cold temperatures should really try to get in their dives in September as we usually start to experience colder water temperatures everywhere in Ontario by October.
How is your 2024 dive season tracking so far in terms of your personal target for number of dives? I’m at 26 logged dives so far which does include my warm water dives down at Little Cayman. We are scheduled for dives at Cedar Hill and Shanty Bay to the second weekend of November with a Humber Bay dive on the October long weekend. The first Saturday of October will have no scheduled dive as I’m away but feel free to get together with other divers to get out somewhere that weekend.
All updates are posted at our Events section and remember, if we do not see any diver names at the comments section for any dive event, we will cancel it so if you want to keep on diving with us, post your names. For me personally, I expect to dive at all scheduled dives unless nobody else wants to go. I may decide to still do shallow solo dives even if no other divers are coming out. I’ll be ending my dive season in Raja Ampat in Indonesia on a liveaboard for another 20 or so dives down there which will bring my 2024 total to over 50 dives this year.
Here is a new video featuring some nice still underwater photos shot by Prash at Cedar Hill Park. The North Pole shown is at 110 feet depth. The big fish were a real bonus as we seldom see such size marine life at Cedar.
A unique bonus with our dive group is that we often like to go out for lunch after our diving. Tyler’s first dives at Humber Bay had a nice bonus of combining them with his first Chinese dim sum experience as well.
So if you still want to get in some more logged dives with our group this season, book your dives at the Events section.
