Inspirational Thoughts
Here are some nice inspirational thoughts from the end of October that were posted on my Motivation Facebook page.
“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So, get on your way.” ~ Dr Seuss
“Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me and I’ll remember. Involve me and I’ll understand.” – Confucius
“He that always gives way to others will end in having no principles of his own.” – Aesop
“Hot heads and cold hearts never solved anything.” ~ Billy Graham
“As we grow older we don’t lose friends, we just learn who the real ones are.” — Unknown
“Never put off tomorrow what you can do today.” – Irish Proverb
“The words that enlighten the soul are more precious than jewels.” – Hazart Inauat Khan
The motivational quotation above by Billy Graham is interesting and one that everyone, especially world leaders, should keep in mind. Too often, there is still conflict in the world and people try to resolve them with threats to each other.
History has shown that such tactics are not effective for long term peace. It’s time to cool down and have constructive dialogue or at least involve those people who are able to do this in international negotiations.
Here are the other inspirational thoughts that were posted last week.
“We must look for ways to be an active force in our own lives.” ~ Les Brown
“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” – Milton Berle
“The way to develop decisiveness is to start right where you are, with the very next question you face.” ~ Napoleon Hill
“Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.” ~ Vince Lombardi
“Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.” ~ Arnold H. Glasow
“Anger blows out the lamp of the mind.” – Robert Ingersoll
I really like the last one above by Robert Ingersoll as well as it has some relation to the principle from the motivational quotation I selected from the first set above. This one reminds us that our minds just can’t function rationally when there is anger. Again, if we can’t control our anger from effective emotional intelligence development, let’s get the people who can for important international diplomacy.
