The Northern Diving Weekend that was to combine Tobermory shore dives and Cedar Hill Park has been cancelled. However, we will still dive on Saturday and the location will depend on votes cast down below in the comments section as we can go to either Tobermory (for both shore dives) or Cedar Hill Park. For either location, we’ll meet at 10:30 am.
Both the first dive at Tobermory (Lighthouse Point) and Cedar Hill Park are deep dives in cold water. For Tobermory we’ll add on the Tugs as a 2nd dive.

VERY IMPORTANT= all our group divers MUST complete a liability waiver form in advance which covers you for the entire 2024 dive season (download at link, sign and send back to us or bring it to your first dive). Divers who do not sign this liability waiver form will not be diving with our group this season.
Also, don’t be late as we will not be waiting for any latecomers after 15 minutes past the posted start time. We will start the dive without you. Best to get there early to get a parking spot.
If you are planning to come to this dive event, please indicate so in the comments section below and vote for your first choice on dive location for our Saturday morning.
I plan to attend these dives in Tobermory and Cedar Hill.
This dive weekend was designed to help our GTA based divers get in both Tobermory shore dives and Cedar Hill Park all in one single weekend. If we do not get confirmations from any of our southern based divers taking advantage of this within the next few days, ie., staying one night, we will turn this weekend into just a Saturday dive at Tobermory and skip the Cedar dive on Sunday since our northern divers can dive there often on other Saturdays.
Sorry all i won’t be able to make this one.
have fun
Dean
i would like to attend both Tobermory and Cedar Hill dives. I’ll be coming from Mississauga.
That’s great Deep. Where will you be booking your room? Cheaper motels are along Beachwood Rd as well as in town in Collingwood. Moderate hotels like Holiday Inn also in town. You might get Airbnb in Blue Mountain area too. We’ll go out for dinner Saturday night. For tanks for the Tobermory shore dives, you can rent at Diver’s Den up there before we meet. So plan for four hours drive up there from Mississauga and get there for noon or before so you can get the tanks from Divers Den – should call them to book the tanks in advance. But you will still need a tank for Sunday. So maybe better to rent 2-3 tanks from Toronto for the weekend say from Diveworld or Marlin Scuba in Burlington. Closest dive shop to Collingwood is Barrie Scuba House about 45 minutes away.
Hi Clint,
I want to join this trip for both Tobermory and Cedar Hill. This would be my first time going with the group here. I wanted to check if a drysuit would be needed (not yet finished my certification) or if a 7mm wetsuit is enough.
We have 1-2 divers who use 7 mm – sometimes they get cold sometimes not so I cannot comment on your case since only you will know your own cold tolerance. I can tell you that at depth the northern dive sites have been 7-9 C degrees so go from there. We also tend to go deeper at these northern sites compared to southern ones like Welland and Humber Bay so divers will feel the thermoclines.
Yes, that might be too low a temp for me. I’ll skip this one for now then and join the next dive in south. I’ll join in this once my drysuit is done.
Thanks for letting me know.
I vote for Saturday dives in Tobermory.
I’ll be attending the Tobermory dive.
For Mayank, I use a 7mm wet suit and I am fine. The odd time I will get a little tingling feeling in the finger tips (5mm gloves). I do have a fairly high tolerance to cold water.
I’ll announce the winning dive site location by Thursday night or Friday morning – keep those votes coming!
The winning dive location is TOBERMORY and we’ll meet at Lighthouse Point for 10:30 am on Saturday
Sorry for the late notice but I am having vehicle issues and will not be able to attend. Enjoy your dives.
