Community Mental Health Group
Every now and then, I get the opportunity to do some really special talks for very select audiences. Last month, I did one for a community adult mental health organization called Friends & Advocates Peel which is government funded and serves Brampton and Mississauga.
Not only did I get to do a special presentation to this group, I saw some of the things that they do for their members, who are mainly folks who are recovering from various forms of mental and emotional distress. I can see how such a group is a much needed outlet for such folks to come together and help each other.
Health Event Keynote Talk Feedback
After my talk, the organizers of their special day long event asked for feedback from the members in the audience. Here’s what Laura, one of the organizers at Friends & Advocates Peel, sent to me.
“At the end of the rally, we asked our members for feedback on your presentation. Here is what they said: ‘Very energetic and clear’, ‘It kept you interested’, ‘He spoke to everyone’, ‘He made us laugh’, ‘The presentation was wonderful’, ‘He got people to participate’, ‘We learned something new’, ‘Inspiring’, ‘Easy to understand’, ‘The best speaker ever’, ‘He knew what he was talking about’, ‘Real’. The members along with the staff really enjoyed the presentation and we thank you once again for giving the presentation.”
I felt that I was doing a good thing doing my presentation to these fine folks. It was the keynote that I developed especially for health related events and is a variation of my talk called The Life Champion In You which is named after my book of the same title but modified for these types of audiences.
The audience was especially happy that each of them got a personally signed copy of my book, The Life Champion In You, thanks to the organizers of the event.
I am certainly most open to doing more such health related events. To see the description of my available talk for these, just see my speaking programs for health events.
