Clint Cora Skiing

I started snow skiing in my teens but never really got serious about it until my late 20s when I joined a ski club to take lessons on a regular basis. Skiing more often and with training, I started to become a better skier. If you went to my webpage about my martial arts competition career, then you know I had two major knee surgeries as a result of ACL injuries not from skiing, but rather from martial arts. The first injury and surgery kept me off the ski slopes for a winter but didn’t stop me from skiing. In fact, after successful rehabilitation of my knee and skiing with a custom fitted knee brace, I went on to get my Level 1 ski instructor certification the following winter.

I ended up getting my CSIA Level 2 ski instructor certification several years after that as well as EL ski coach with CSCF. After spending eight seasons teaching at ski resorts in both Quebec and Ontario, I started my own ski club and ran it for ten years. Through this ski club, I’ve introduced many people to a new winter life for them and have trained several of my ski students all the way to become Level 1 ski instructors themselves.

Teaching a ski class

Much like with my scuba diving activities, I’ve organized ski trips for my ski students and friends. With skiing as one of my passions, the cold winters here in Canada is a season I actually look forward to. Each winter, I typically ski 100+ days no matter how cold it gets. To a lot of non-winter folks, the fact that I actually choose to travel to cold weather destinations for vacations is quote strange. But being in the mountains as you can see in the photo up top of me in Banff, is one of the most wonderful experiences in life as you can see just how beautiful the outdoors in winter can be. So with both skiing and scuba diving, I get to enjoy the outdoors all year round.
