Clint Cora Martial Arts Background

Influenced early on by the late, great Bruce Lee, I started training in martial arts as a youth.  As described in my book, The Life Champion In You, martial arts changed my life and was a major factor in my overall life success.  Not only did this stop the school bullies and made me committed to lifelong fitness, the confidence I gained through martial arts enabled me to take on other challenges in life. As a martial arts multistylist, I have trained in kung fu, wushu, tae kwon do, karate, kickboxing and martial arts weaponry.

Unlike many other black belt level martial artists, I decided early on that I did not want to run my own martial arts school although I did develop and teach a self defense course to hundreds of individuals at organizations such as Proctor & Gamble, American Express, Metropolitan Life, The Fitness Institute, The Granite Club, George Brown College, Ryerson University as well as at my own seminars. I still sometimes teach my Effective Self Defense training seminar but everyone can learn through a self defense instruction video I produced.

Another training video I produced is called Total Body Stretch which is a stretch fitness workout using various flexibility exercises developed from martial arts, yoga, physiotherapy and dance. Everyone is welcome to take in a short version of this class for free anytime at the Total Body Stretch link. I also teach Total Body Stretch classes in the Collingwood/Wasaga Beach areas during the summer season – see the Events section for scheduled classes. I’m also offering personal fitness training and for a limited period of time, martial arts bo staff weapons training.

I even conducted cardio kickboxing classes for a year when I got certified as a fitness instructor in Mississauga, Ontario but my main focus in martial arts has always been competition. I was an active competitor in tournament circuits for over twenty years since 1985, winning many awards and titles including Canadian national championships and at least one World championship title in each of the top four open competition circuits (NASKA, WOMAA, NBL and WSKF) at that time.   I was also a proud member of Canadian National Karate teams that competed internationally.

For a partial list of some of my more notable victories in martial arts competition, see my Martial Arts Championship Titles.

For your entertainment here are a few video clips of me in action shot along the beachfront in Mississauga, Ontario.
