A Return To Panama
I went to Panama City back in May and decided to make a quick return trip there recently because a buddy of mine who is based in Barbados was scheduled to have a business trip to Panama. He had never really seen much of the city before so I met him down there to show him a few sights as well as to do a much deeper dive of the old section of the city called Casco Viejo.
To get there from our Airbnb, I took my friend for his first experience on the Metro public transit system that Panama City has. Why take taxis and Ubers when one can take a safe, modern Metro for 28 cents?
I wanted to take our time to walk through all the little alleys of Casco Viejo and make it to the far end facing the ocean which I didn’t do during my May trip. We checked out art and coffee shops along the way as well as enjoy the views of the ocean.
With the big fish market nearby, I also wanted to get some fresh seafood for lunch as well as taste more of that Panamian cerviche.
Here is a quick video of our lunch narrated by a lively restaurant server whom I recognized from other YouTube videos he appeared on.
With all the walking we did, I had no problems finishing off that big red snapper fish I ordered.
After a great weekend in Panama City with my friend, we parted ways with him moving onto his business meeting while I continued on for a return trip to Medellin, Colombia.
